18"x24" poster

After reflecting on my own food culture, I chose to make an informative poster about black-eyed peas and collard greens that are typically eaten on news years day as a southern tradition. I chose to illustrate the dish and place it on a plate that references typical southern china with delicate blue designs on a white plate. I also wanted the overall voice of the poster to reflect an old southern cook book that has been passed down from your great grandmother to your mother. The information I shared includes the typical cooking instructions, each dishes symbolic meaning and the roots for the tradition that aren't typically talked about.
I created an instagram option for the infographic poster as well that uses the same information and designs in a new configuration for social media digestion.
